How is special counsel Jack Smith conflicted? Let us count the ways. This man is so conflicted and he is not a fan of anything conservative. Remember when Lois Lerner refused to give conservative organizations tax-free status in 2012 just as Obama was going for his reelection? Well, guess who her partner in crime was? Jack Smith. There is no doubt that Merrick Garland chose Smith because he is a partisan hack. It’s a hatchet job if I ever saw one.
The DOJ hasn’t changed. They still are conflicted. The Post Millennial shared yesterday on this matter of Jack Smith’s wife being a full-blown card-carrying liberal:
On Friday, United States Attorney General Merrick Garland announced that Jack Smith, a “veteran career prosecutor” would serve as a special counsel to lead the ongoing investigations into Donald Trump being conducted by Biden’s Department of Justice, and on Monday records show Smith’s wife, Katy Chevigny, is a “high dollar donor” to Joe Biden and contributed to various high-profile Democrat efforts.
On Twitter, Henry Rodgers tweeted a screengrab showing that Katy Chevigny, through her production company Big Mouth Productions gave $2,000 to the Biden for President campaign in 2020.
Chevigny also gave to anti-semitic squad member and Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib.
On Gettr, journalist Paul Sperry wrote, “BREAKING: FEC records reveal the wife of the supposedly ‘impartial’ special counsel Biden Attorney General Merrick Garland tapped to investigate Trump donated at least $2,000 to Joe Biden’s presidential campaign in 2020. Katy Chevigny, the wife of newly appointed Special Counsel Jack Smith, also gave money to Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib, the Islamist member of the radical ‘Squad’ who said of Trump: ‘We’re gonna impeach the motherf*cker’.”

During his stint at the DOJ, Smith was linked to one of the most infamous scandals of the Obama administration: the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups. In the wake of the Supreme Court’s 2010 decision in Citizens United, the IRS unfairly scrutinized and delayed hundreds of conservative organizations’ applications for tax-exempt status from 2010-2012, according to a 2013 report from the U.S. Treasury Inspector General.
A congressional investigation into the affair uncovered that an official from the DOJ met with Lois Lerner, then-head of the Exempt Organizations Division at the IRS, in October of 2010. Days later, Lerner said in a discussion at the Sanford School of Public Policy that “everybody is screaming at us right now, fix it now before the election,” referring to Citizens United and the relaxed rules on corporate political funding.
In May of 2014, Richard Pilger, then the director of the DOJ’s Election Crimes Branch, told congressional investigators that the DOJ-Lerner meeting was set up at the behest of Smith to discuss campaign finance law. More specifically, Smith wanted to discuss the IRS being “more vigilant to the opportunities from more crime in the … 501(c)(4) area,” Pilger said according to Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA), then chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee.
This is just for show and you can expect fake leaks from the investigation. And in the end, there will be no charges. The last thing in the world the Democrats want is for Trump to win any prosecution against him. That would make him a martyr.
