CNN has cut another major liberal host from its nighttime programming. After 8 years, Don Lemon is being cut from his program that aired nightly throughout the week.
This is further evidence that the new management is cutting back from the far-left outlet and moving to a format of news programming and away from propaganda. CNN has not announced what they plan to fill Lemon’s timeslot with.
Lemon will be moved to the struggling morning show to co-host with Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins. I suspect moving him to the morning show is because CNN did not want to eat his contract, but I wouldn’t be surprised to find out he was ordered to tone down his rhetoric. Lemon would probably agree because his prospects after CNN won’t be plentiful.
At least they can’t cut his pay and the money will come in handy. The morning shows are not political and contain a lot of fluff.
New president Chris Licht said:

Lemon said:
“The last eight years have been an incredible ride. I’ve had the opportunity to work with one of the best show teams in the business, but it’s time to shake things up.”
Too bad one of the best staff was stuck with Lemon. If they are really good, they will find work in other areas of CNN another outlet. I just have to say, good luck with that.
Licht announced in May that CNN would revamp “New Day,” the morning show which has long trailed Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends” and MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” But he is also seeking to pivot from far-Left, editorializing programs to a more straight news approach. The change was reportedly pushed by parent company Warner Bros. Discovery’s chief shareholder John Malone.
