Politics pays even if you are a loser like Stacey Abrams. She already had problems with scandals with her nonprofit, but now it has been revealed that almost $10 million dollars was paid to the law firm of her campaign manager. Imagine how much they would have been paid if she had been a viable candidate. The law firm of Lawrence and Bundy was started by Abram’s close friend and campaign manager Allegra Lawrence-Hardy.
Allegra Lawrence-Hardy’s law firm was handling a lawsuit brought by Abrams against Brad Raffensperger. Her claim was that they violated both the constitution and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. The Obama-appointed judge decided the case in Georgia’s favor, ruling that neither claim was valid. And for that, the nonprofit shelled out $9.4 million dollars? Somehow, I think some pockets were lined with tha5t money. It sounds like the lawsuit was iffy at best. Meaning most lawyers would have rejected the case.
Stacey Abram’s campaign chairman was paid nearly $10 million in legal fees for services rendered to Abrams’ nonprofit group, Fair Fight Action. The lawsuit did not even come close to having a reasonable chance of winning. How did such an exorbitant fee get justified? I think explanations are in order. Maybe it’s justified, but it should be looked at for that reason and for the apparent conflict of interests that is involved here. The amounts paid to the law firm are not unprecedented but are nonetheless considered to be exceptional.
Brian Kemp said:
“Today, Stacey Abrams and her organization lost in court – on all counts. From day one, Abrams has used this lawsuit to line her pockets, sow distrust in our democratic institutions, and build her own celebrity.”

Stacey Abrams is the Democrat candidate currently seeking to unseat Republican Gov. Brian Kemp in Georgia’s gubernatorial race. The chairman for her campaign, who also happens to be a close friend of Abrams’, is Allegra Lawrence-Hardy.
Politico reported that Lawrence-Hardy is one of two named partners at the law firm Lawrence and Bundy. Lawrence-Hardy’s firm was reportedly paid $9.4 million by Fair Fight Action in 2019 and 2020.
Fair Fight Action filed a lawsuit after Abrams was soundly defeated in Georgia’s 2018 gubernatorial election by 54,723 votes — a result the Democrat candidate gained a reputation as an “election denier” for rejecting.
The Fair Fight Action v. Raffensperger trial began on April 11 and was rejected by U.S. District Judge Steve Jones in Atlanta on Sept. 30.
Jones, an Obama appointee who found for the defendants on all counts, stated that while “Georgia’s election system is not perfect, the challenged practices violate neither the constitution nor the [Voting Rights Act of 1965],” as had been alleged by Abrams.
Fair Fight Action took in $61 million and $25 million was spent on losing this lawsuit. Heck, I would have lost it for just $5 million. That would have saved them a bundle and would have made me happier than all get out. The deputy director of litigation at the Legal Defense Fund, Leah Aden, claims that the money spent on this case was much higher than is normally spent on this type of lawsuit.
Aden said:
“The typical case is a couple of hundred thousand dollars and can take a couple of years. … Beyond $10 million would be very shocking, I would say.”
Kathleen Clark, a legal ethics professor at Washington University in St. Louis said:
“Fair Fight Action ought to explain why this lawsuit cost so much. … I think there are significant questions about this choice of firm and just why this lawsuit was so much more expensive.”

AGREE
Old Wolf and Steve, thanks for the appropriate words and definition of this corrupt person.
It seems this was all part of the plan. A hell of a retirement.
How does ANY voter with a sound mind vote for the fat lying idiot Abrams?????? She is a joke and too many stupid people follow her around like f’n lost puppies. Half of this country is evidently so pathetic that they literally can’t think for themselves and needs snake charmers like Abrams to help find their woke happy space. I wish we could just have a good old’ fashion civil dust up and correct the complete woke stupidity that has spread like a cancer through this country.
I am sure the money really just goes into her Pig Bank, er Piggy Bank to be used to feather her sty, er nest once she is thoroughly trounced at the ballot box unless she stuffs the ballot box with false ballots again.
Since when does honesty and integrity enter the picture with Stacy Abrams? There is no law or rules that she will abide with her ambitions as big as she is. Just don’t let her step on you or you are as flat as a door mat.
