I can tell you from personal experience that there is no greater loss than losing a child because no parent ever wants to outlive their children.
My son died of kidney failure at the age of 25, almost 5 years ago and the hurt lives with you forever. That is why my heart went out to Kiyan Michael, whose 21-year-old son was killed in a car after he was hit by a car being driven by an illegal alien. He was 21.
She says that the last words she said to her son were, “I love you.” I hope she takes comfort in that. But, if she does, it will be a small comfort compared to her loss. I always tell people that you should not grieve for what you have lost, but to rejoice in that which you once found.
My memories of my son is all I have left, but they were good memories for the most part. I’m sure she feels the same way. Still, her son was killed by someone who should not have been there.
Gov. Ron DeSantis used the video of Ms. Michael for a campaign ad, but I found much more meaning in it. DeSantis is showing why his plan of shipping off illegal aliens to blue cities is being done.
And the people of Florida get it. Many governors are all talk, but DeSantis has proven time and time again that he is a man of action. He works hard for the people of Florida and although left-leaning polls give Crist a shot of winning the governorship, I will go out on a limb and predict DeSantis will win by double digits.
Michael says in the commercial:
“When our middle son, Brandon, left to go to work, he was only 21 years old, and the last words I said to him is, ‘I love you. And a twice-deported illegal ran into him and hit him so hard that he caused Brandon’s car to flip, and he killed him.”
“My child was killed by someone who should not have been here. This is what happens when we have open borders. We were able to go and meet with Governor DeSantis. He said, ‘I want to hear your son’s story.’ To see the compassion in his eyes and I saw the concern. He wanted to make sure other lives were protected.”
“And as a Governor, he truly has been upholding the oath that he took, which is to protect Floridians,” she concluded. “He not only talks a good talk, but he walks it. He’s been very strong on safety. He’s been very strong on law and order. He has made our state one of the safest states to be in. There’s no greater leader than Governor DeSantis because he didn’t just listen. He put action behind it.”
Gov. DeSantis has been working overtime to limit the impact of illegal immigration in Florida. He has banned sanctuary cities in his state.
Florida requires all of its cities to cooperate with state and federal authorities immigration. He has even sent Florida law enforcement help to the Southern border.
He has increased the penalty on drug dealing of fentanyl methamphetamine. And if someone traffics those drugs and someone dies of an overdose, the dealer can get life in prison.
Some want DeSantis to run for president, but I think he will not do that if Trump is running again and that might be for the better. If Trump chooses DeSantis as a running mate and he accepts, we could control the White House for 12 consecutive years.
