The House Freedom Caucus has laid out its demands in order to secure its votes. Many people think that McCarthy has already been elected Speaker of the House, but it’s not true. McCarthy received 188 votes, but the rules say you must receive 218 votes to actually be elected. That means in order to win, he needs to either turn his opponents to his side or he needs Democratic support to seal the deal.
One thing remains abundantly clear, McCarthy cannot be trusted. We were betrayed by John Boehner and Paul Ryan. We do not want McCarthy to continue to lead us down the path of destruction. We have to stop shopping at RINOS-R-Us and start taking our business to a more aggressive market. Andy Biggs could be that man. Jim Jordan as well. There are few who would be good for our party and for our country, but McCarthy does not make the list.
McCarthy. Like McConnell withheld money from MAGA candidates and showered it on MEGA RINOs such as Lisa Murkowski. We have from now till the 2024 election to prove to the voters that we are serious about ending the Biden caliphate. We can’t do that with a wishy-washy Speaker of the House. They won’t vote for Democrats but they might sit at home watching Gilligan’s Island reruns. People need a reason to go out and vote.
Here is the rundown of what the Freedom caucus wants.
- Republican House Freedom Caucus (HFC) members called for key rule and policy changes in a letter Thursday, recommending that the speaker of the House adopt their recommendations as the 118th Congress is formed.
- The letter highlighted the implementation of “must-pass” legislation to check the Biden administration, the formation of committees to “target weaponized government,” bills that are focused, amendable and readable, conservative representation on committees and among chairs and a halting of Republican leaders being involved in primary elections.
- The letter called for spending limitations to be implemented, and described the House as the “people’s voice” in government, asserting that the leadership should push the senate to act, while also properly exercising the power of purse.
These are all admirable goals, but they should not kid themselves. Even if McCarthy agrees to these terms, he will not follow through. He will bow to the pressure from the left. At the first opportunity, he will fold up like a cheap roadmap. We are already in trouble with the Senate, therefore we must take advantage of our majority in the House since George Soros retained control of the Oval Office.
The representatives wrote in the letter:
“The House leadership of both parties has increasingly centralized decision-making power around fewer and fewer individuals – at the expense of deliberation and input by the body. This results in massive, multi-subject bills that are unable to be amended or fully read, all driven by supposedly must-pass defense and appropriations measures. In the process, we’ve amassed trillions of dollars in debt, empowered administration bureaucrats who target citizens, and failed to carry out our basic duties to defend the American People.”

“We must fight for a bold agenda that will win hearts and minds, but much more importantly, change how we do things to produce results and not excuses. The American people send us to Washington to do what we said we would do,” the letter said.
Arizona Rep. Andy Biggs announced that he would be running for the Speaker of the House, saying it is time for new leadership. Biggs called for Republicans to drop McCarthy as the party’s nominee for speaker of the House Thursday.
“We need to make a change in trajectory, a change of path, a change in process, a change of procedure, a change in policy,” Biggs told “America Reports” host John Roberts. “All of those are not going to happen with the current leadership.”
