Things are beginning to look up in the House and with a little luck, maybe some people will pay a price for their corruption. The House Judiciary Committee has issued a subpoena for the corrupt Director of the FBI Christopher Wray. He is scheduled to appear on March 1st to testify about targeting parents as domestic terrorists. The committee wants him to reveal what he knows about the targeting of parents who were against pornographic books and the teaching of CRT in schools.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) has also subpoenaed the Department of Education and Education Secretary Miguel Cardona. A third subpoena went out to Merrick Garland. The subpoenas demand that the ones called appear at 9:00 AM on March 1st and will compel them to discuss “misuse of federal criminal and counterterrorism resources” at school board meetings.
The subpoenas require the production of documents and communications from Merrick Garland’s October 4, 2021, memo directing the FBI to partner with local law enforcement to investigate parents and to prosecute them when necessary. It was that scandal that led Republicans to a complete sweep in the Virginia state elections. During the summer of 2021 parents began attending school board meetings in great numbers to express their dissatisfaction on then way they were bringing wokeness into the schools.
In late September, the National School Boards Association (NSBA) sent a letter to the Department of Justice. The letter said:
“Coupled with attacks against school board members and educators for approving policies for masks to protect the health and safety of students and school employees, many public school officials are also facing physical threats because of propaganda purporting the false inclusion of critical race theory within classroom instruction and curricula.”
“NSBA respectfully asks that a joint collaboration among federal law enforcement agencies, state and local law enforcement, and with public school officials be undertaken to focus on these threats. NSBA specifically solicits the expertise and resources of the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Secret Service, and its National Threat Assessment Center regarding the level of risk to public schoolchildren, educators, board members, and facilities/campuses.”
About a week after NSBA sent the letter, Garland published a memo directing the FBI to begin looking into the incidents at school board meetings. The action drove concern among Republicans that the Biden administration was using federal law enforcement to crack down on criticism of strict COVID policies in schools, as well as parental backlash against leftist theories involving gender and systemic racism.
Parents were deeply upset by the letter and the willingness of Merrick Garland to use the full force of the federal government to intimidate parents and to cut them out of the decision-making for their kids and Democrats paid the price in Virginia in the 2021 elections. Since then, school boards have been tossed by the wayside and replaced by board members who answer to the parents and not to the school boards or teachers’ unions.
