Why is it that I find this year’s election so hard to believe? In a year when the crime rate is skyrocketing because of Democratic policies, high gas prices, high inflation, and a general belief by 81% of voters that the country is headed in the wrong direction, they voted for two more years’ worth of the same. It defies logic. Has the United States become a country of masochists? I can’t believe that, but I could be wrong.
Republicans, Democrats, and the media all saw a red wave coming. Only Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, and Joe Biden were confident it would not happen. Am I missing something or did I just discover something? What did those three know that no one else did? Don’t expect any answers to that question and don’t bet the ranch on the 2024 election. Democrats will likely win by the same method they did in 2020 and 2022.
Even if the Republicans take control of the House, it will have little effect. They will be unable to force more drilling, lower the spending, or stem the tide of illegal aliens at our border. And in the few instances where they might be able theoretically to stop the Democrats, the RINOs could sabotage their conservative base by going along with the Democrats. We have seen them do it before and you can bet they will do it again. The Senate control now looks like it hinges on the Georgia runoff election. And even if Walker wins, the Democrats still have Mitt Romney, even though it looks like they have lost Lisa Murkowski.
Joe Biden will be able to kill coal and stop oil drilling without help from Congress, making us dependent on despots and dictators for our energy needs. And sure, Republicans can hold hearings on the shady deals of Hunter Biden, but they cannot press charges because that decision belongs to the corrupt AG Merrick Garland. And, what are the odds he will press any meaningful charges against Hunter? Hunter will then be free to wheel and deal with America’s enemies without fear of reprisals and the Big Guy will still get his cut.
With any luck, i will not live to see the 2024 election and the complete betrayal of American values, and the collapse of the country I love.
