Joe Manchin has no one to blame but himself for being so gullible that he actually believed his fellow Democrats would keep their word, but we knew better all along. He agreed to vote for Biden’s $1.9 trillion boondoggle the misnomer-ed Deficit Reduction Act in exchange for them passing his bill to speed up approval for increasing energy.
Now, they not only killed his bill, which makes him very unpopular in his state, but now Joe Biden has declared that he intends to kill coal production in this country.
However, the White House is now walking that back. Do you believe them? If you do, you will be sorely disappointed.
But, they are not walking it back now for West Virginia. He does plan to shut down everything coal, but his handlers wanted to wait until after the midterms to announce it because it will cost them in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Win, lose, or draw, they will proceed to lock down the coal industry just as soon as the election is over.
“President Biden’s comments are not only outrageous and divorced from reality, but they also ignore the severe economic pain the American people are feeling because of rising energy costs. Comments like these are the reason the American people are losing trust in President Biden and instead believe he does not understand the need to have an all-in energy policy that would keep our nation totally energy independent and secure.”
My statement on comments President Biden made about shutting down coal plants: pic.twitter.com/LEeqrGdwqm
— Senator Joe Manchin (@Sen_JoeManchin) November 5, 2022
“I was in Massachusetts about a month ago on the site of the largest old coal plant in America. Guess what? It cost them too much money. No one is building new coal plants because they can’t rely on it, even if they have all the coal guaranteed for the rest of the existence of the plant,” Biden said. “So it’s going to become a wind generation.”
“And all they’re doing is, it’s going to save them a hell of a lot of money and using the same transmission line that they transmitted the coal-fired electric on, we’re going to be shutting these plants down all across America and having wind and solar power.”
That’s funny. In Germany, they are dismantling a wind farm to make room for expanding a coal mine. They are doing it there because of the extreme shortage of energy and the coal mine will supply much more than the wind farm. In the United States, Joe Biden is dismantling the country to make room for communism.
Manchin’s comments will alienate him even more from his party, but they don’t care. They got a major concession from him and it didn’t cost them a thing. His best chance to get reelected again in 2024 would be to switch parties, but he hates Mitch McConnell (So do I) and that is why he hasn’t made the move before, but if McConnell goes, Manchin just might make the jump.
“It seems his positions change depending on the audience and the politics of the day. Politicizing our nation’s energy policies would only bring higher prices and more pain for the American people.”
“Let me be clear, this is something the President has never said to me. Being cavalier about the coal jobs for men and women in West Virginia and across the country who literally put their lives on the line to help build and power this country is offensive and disgusting. The President owes these incredible workers an immediate and public apology and it is time he learns [the] lesson that his words matter and have consequences.”
