The Secret Service under Joe Biden’s administration has refused to prioritize the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request submitted by America First Legal regarding the assassination attempt on President Trump.
Following the incident where a 20-year-old gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks, fired shots at Trump and rallygoers in Butler, Pennsylvania, resulting in one fatality and two injuries, the Secret Service has been unresponsive.
Despite the Secret Service being alerted to Crooks’ suspicious behavior before the attack, no explanation has been provided nearly one week later.
America First Legal’s expedited FOIA request for reports, documents, and communications related to the assassination attempt was denied by Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
“You have requested expedited processing of your request under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) standard permitting expedition when a requester demonstrates a “compelling need.” Your request for expedited treatment has been denied,” Biden’s DHS said in a letter to AFL.
Biden’s DHS denied AFL’s expedited processing request because they claim there is not:
1. Any threat to the life or safety of anyone;
2. Any urgency to inform the public about government activity.
