She tweeted, “Donald Trump would ban abortion nationwide. President @JoeBiden and I will do everything in our power to stop him and restore women’s reproductive freedom.”
The VP posted her message three days after Trump debated with President Joe Biden, where he said he would not sign a bill calling for a federal abortion ban, a position he’s held throughout his campaign.
The community note soon followed: “President Trump has repeatedly said he will not sign a national abortion ban.”
Harris was also fact-checked by the platform’s majority shareholder, Elon Musk, who responded: “He clearly said he would not do so in the debate.”
The Daily Wire added:
During the CNN debate on Thursday, Trump reiterated that he would not support federal bans on abortion or abortion pills. He also continued to defend the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade — which was partly accomplished thanks to three conservative justices appointed by Trump — and added that Democrats, such as Biden, are the “radicals” in the abortion debate.
“Under Roe v. Wade, you have late-term abortion. You can do whatever you want. Depending on the state, you can do whatever you want. We don’t think that’s a good thing. We think it’s a radical thing,” Trump said. “We think the Democrats are the radicals, not the Republicans.”
According to a report, “The movement, named Project 2025, announced this week it had the backing of 100 conservative groups, including the most established and well-funded institutions inside Washington, D.C.”
There are four areas of focus for the project, per the outlet:
- A database of conservatives and Trump loyalists to quickly stock the executive branch.
- Preemptive training for those appointees so they can immediately take action once they take office.
- An aggressive policy agenda to begin implementing on day one.
- A 180-day playbook for Trump’s second term.
