Conservatives could make a compelling argument against Vice President Kamala Harris if they focus on the substantive issues and present their case effectively.
Over the weekend, as reported by The San Francisco Standard, former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown unexpectedly voiced his support for Harris as a potential successor to President Joe Biden at the head of the Democratic presidential ticket during a brief impromptu press conference outside a restaurant.
It is safe to say that Harris might have preferred not to receive Brown’s endorsement.
The establishment media, of course, will gloss over important details of his history with the vice president.
For instance, the Standard noted merely that Brown “dated Harris when she was an Alameda County prosecutor in the mid-1990s.”

However, the reality extends beyond just dating. In a 2019 Politico Magazine profile, it was revealed that San Francisco newspapers first mentioned Harris’ name in 1994.
One columnist, on the occasion of Brown’s 60th birthday, noted that actor Clint Eastwood had spilled champagne on Brown’s “new steady,” who was none other than Harris at the age of 29.
Subsequently, her romantic relationship with Brown proved to be advantageous.
According to Politico, “Harris had dated Brown, who was investigated by the FBI when he was speaker of the California Assembly and as mayor was dogged by conflict of interest, and she had benefited from his political patronage.”
Indeed, it said, “As the speaker of the state Assembly, Brown had named Harris to well-paid posts on the California Medical Assistance Commission and Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board.”
Furthermore, “As mayor of San Francisco in 2003, Brown was supportive of her district attorney campaign although they were no longer dating. Critics — including her opponents — were bemoaning cronyism at City Hall.”
In simpler terms, when she was 29, Harris was in a romantic relationship with an older man who helped her secure government jobs.
This man later became the subject of federal investigation. It’s important to note that federal investigations don’t always indicate criminal activity.
Therefore, at this time, what’s more significant is how Harris began her political career rather than any suggestion of wrongdoing. Conservative commentator Matt Walsh brought up this aspect of Harris’ past on Sunday.
“Kamala Harris got her start in politics by sleeping with Willie Brown,” Walsh said in a post on X.
“She’s made a career out of begging for hand outs from powerful men. A thoroughly unimpressive human being,” he added.
Kamala Harris got her start in politics by sleeping with Willie Brown. She became Vice President because Biden needed a non-white female on the ticket. Now she likely becomes the Democratic nominee for president because the guy at the top of the ticket has dementia. She’s made a…

Walsh raised valid points regarding Harris’ rise, while Republicans would be wise to heed Wolf’s advice.
In essence, Harris’ previous romantic involvement with Brown underscores her history of gaining undeserved influence throughout her career. Her abrupt promotion to the top of the Democratic ticket is just the latest example of this pattern.
It’s likely that voters won’t be concerned about Harris’ relationship from 30 years ago. However, they should be concerned that every time she speaks, she demonstrates her inadequacy for the authority she holds.
The Brown narrative serves as a reminder to voters of who Harris truly is and how her “thoroughly unimpressive” career commenced.
